Stu at Seventies asked myself and Shaun from Four One Four skateparks to run the judging side of the new Backyard Jam series for 2019. This event was at Ramp 1 skatepark in Warrington and was a huge success. For an amatuer series including under 15s under 11s male and female the riding level was so high. We also provided the scoring system and judges and had results directly after each phase of the contest.
UCI European Championships Switzerland
I was proudly asked to be the Head judge for the first ever European Freestyle BMX Championships in the south of Switzerland. The weather worked out perfectly for us and the event was a huge success. I also provided the scoring system and delivered the live results right after the contest.
Backyard Jam QF Asylum Skatepark
Stu at Seventies asked myself and Shaun from Four One Four skateparks to run the judging side of the new Backyard Jam series for 2019. This event was at a brand new skatepark unopened yet in Nottingham and was a huge success. For an amatuer series including under 15s under 11s male and female the riding level was so high. We also provided the scoring system and judges and had results directly after each phase of the contest.
Backyard Jam QF Unit 23 Skatepark Scotland

World Urban Games Budapest
This was the first ever World Urban Games held in Budapest Hungary. The BMX Contest had a prize purse for €10,000 for 1st place so it was full of the best riders in the world. I was head judge for this event and it was very difficult to judge. The event organiser and hosts were really happy with how the whole event planned out.
Battle Of Hastings UK
One of my favourite contests of the year happens in my own country. The atmosphere in Hastings at the Source Park for Battle Of Hastings is incredible. Achim organises such a good contest format which is a team event with the riders also making videos for us to judge.
Backyard Jam QF Rush Skatepark
Stu at Seventies asked myself and Shaun from Four One Four skateparks to run the judging side of the new Backyard Jam series for 2019. The first event was at Rush skatepark and was a huge success. For an amatuer series including under 15s under 11s male and female the riding level was so high. We also provided the scoring system and judges and had results directly after each phase of the contest.
Crankworx Whistler Canada
This was my first time in Whistler judging the famous Red Bull Joyride contest. I used to watch this event when it was a BMX contest called salvation back in the mid 2000s. It’s such a well organised event with so much going on for all levels of riding.
Newquay Boardmasters UK
Vision Nine asked myself and Four One Four Skateparks to arrange and organise the BMX contest in Newquay UK for the boardmasters surf festival. We have been going down to Cornwall for over 12 years now working in this event. We invite all the pro riders and run the contest and judging. We also hold an under 15s contest for local talented riders to ride. This year the hurricane caused many issues with the whole music and surf festival. We held out to the Sunday and managed to run a straight final!
Ride London Mini Ramp UK
This was my first time attending the Ride London event. This is a huge cycling event across the city of London UK and they have different zones for the public to watch. There was a BMX mini ramp contest this year which i was asked to provide the judges and coring system for as well as head judging.
South Korea Judging Clinic
This was my second time hosting a judging clinic in South Korea. The upcoming riders/judges and scene in Korea is growing really fast. They are all really good participants who pay a lot of attention and care a lot of the future of BMX Freestyle. The Korean Cycling team take really good care of me whilst i am there. This year i designed and planned a test for them which they all passed and got certificates.
NASS Festival 2019
This year I was asked to run the whole of the judging for BMX at NASS 2019. I provided the judges and head judges myself as well as providing the some of the scoring system and delivering results as soon the contests were over. There was park, street and mini ramp. We were lucky with the weather so all events went ahead as planned!
Crankworx Innsbruck
This was our set up for a few days in Austria Innsbruck for the 2nd stop of the Crankworx World Series for Slopestyle MTB. The weather pushed us back with bad wind but we all stayed on an extra day to get the job done!
Pannonian Challenge Croatia
This event is held on Osijek Croatia. A very unique small town in the north east of the country but it has an amazing skatepark and scene and an event spanning over 20 years. It’s great to see the progression of the scene from this region and that so many international riders male and female came out as it was a C1 event helping to earn Olympic points
FISE UCI World Series Monteplier France
This is unofficially the main event of the year. Montpelier France brings in crowds of over 600000 people and is the one of the most attending events on the bmx calendar. We are worked really hard here. There are junior, amateur and pro events in all categories, mini spine, park, dirt, street, and there is male and female in these events. It’s huge. Judging is always tough here but I embrace the challenge it brings
