This was my first time judging the Nitro World Games in Vista California. With 24 invited professional BMXers live on Facebook and a large prize purse it’s one of the biggest events of the year.
Newquay Boardmasters UK
Vision Nine asked myself and Four One Four Skateparks to arrange and organise the BMX contest in Newquay UK for the boardmasters surf festival. We have been going down to Cornwall for over 12 years now working in this event. We invite all the pro riders and run the contest and judging. We also hold an under 15s contest for local talented riders to ride.
FISE Edmonton Canada
This was the third stop of the World Series for the FISE UCI world tour. It was the third year in Edmonton also. I was there to head judge all BMX competitions from junior, amateur, professional male and female.
NASS Bath England
I was asked by Vision Nine to arrange the BMX Contest at NASS for 2018. This took around 4 months of planning. We worked on inviting riders from amateur and professional in all disciplines, dirt, street, park and vert. I organised all the judges and contest format. We had amazing weather for the weekend so all completions and the timetable ran smoothly.
Crankworx France Les Gets
Just one week after Innsbruck we held the same type of event but in Les Gets France. The weather held out and we managed to complete all the events!
Crankworx Innsbruck Austria
Crankworx is a multi national world tour for all types of Mountain Bike Competition. For this event in Innsbruck they had Downhill, Cross country, Whip off, Pump track and lots of other side events for children as well. I was there to be part of the judging crew for Slopestyle and Dual Speed and Style.

Pannonian Challenge Croatia Osijek
This was my second time in Osijek, Croatia for the Pannonian Challenge on the river Drava. They have run this contest for 19 years now featuring skateboarding, in-line skating and BMX freestyle. We judged an amateur event with around 40 riders coming from all across Eastern Europe and then a pro contest live on the internet. Even the Croatian president came to watch the event

FISE France Montpelier
FISE Montpelier France is the biggest and busiest event on my calendar every year. With around 130 riders in male pro park for BMX and over 30 pro female all part of the UCI World Cup event. Along with this is a local Montpelier metropole event, junior and amateur with over 200 riders in total. I was head judging all these events along with the Mini Spine contest held under lights in front of a great crowd. The finals got rained out Saturday night and Sunday so we took the semi final and qualifying results.

Swatch RocketAir Thun Switzerland
This was my 4th year in the beautiful city of Thun Switzerland. This is a slopestyle mountain bike contest with a twist. The flying metal crew always put a theme on the event and this year was futuristic. They even got us judging in some futuristic space suits to join in with the crew. The contest is held inside an ice hockey stadium and is always packed so it makes for a great atmosphere

UCI World Cup FISE Japan Hiroshima
For the first time FISE and the UCI took the BMX World Cup to Hiroshima Japan. I was head judging all aspects of the BMX Park contest. There were around 30 juniors, 60 amateurs and 80 in professional. Both men and women were competing and with the course being slightly different to the typical BMX Freestyle park course it made for an exciting contest.

British Cycling Consultant
British cycling asked me to help them with the building and selection of their first ever BMX freestyle team. After riders were selected from an open video entry they arranged a weeks training camp in North Carolina USA. I was invited along to help and assist with the team and training and decisions for the final selection

Simple Session Estonia Tallinn
This was my 6th time judging BMX in Tallinn Estonia. It’s always a great event to start the calendar year. So many types of riders come and ride and from all parts of the world, qualifying alone had nearly 100 riders. This makes for a long day of judging split across park and street.

Sky TV Show REVOLUTION
This was a six month project I was involved in from helping with the design of the course, nationwide auditions, choice of games, health and safety and the running of the TV show. It was held in a giant disused aircraft hanger in Bedford called Cardington Studios.
There were many months of preparations from rehearsal and auditions we went to all across the country. Lots of games testing and practices before the show was filmed.
